His Excellency Dr. Raed Mohammed Bin Shams, the Director General of the Bahrain Institute for Public Administration (BIPA), affirmed the importance of holding this forum as the first administrative gathering for bringing together the local government practices during the Corona Pandemic for discussion and dialogue on the most prominent administrative challenges that arose as a consequence of the pandemic, as well as the strategies and mechanisms that were developed to deal with it.
He emphasized on highlighting the experience of Team Bahrain represented by the Ministry of Health, with its innovative mechanism based on a controlled national strategy that made the Kingdom of Bahrain the focus of attention of the international community.
His Excellency’s statement came on the launch of the forum “Government Practices during the Corona Pandemic” that was organized by the Institute in collaboration with Gulf Petrochemical Industries Company (GPIC), National Bank of Bahrain (NBB) and Bahrain Telecommunications Company (BATELCO).
Dr. Bin Shams explained that Team Bahrain played a prominent role in combatting the Corona Pandemic and that the current phase calls for the solidarity of the different sectors in the Kingdom and the employing of the best government practices to participate in entering the recovery phase of the pandemic using systematic mechanisms based on applied practices and scientific bases. He added that the practices included the ministries’ and other government agencies’ experiences during the pandemic and the solutions used to deal with the current and future phases which today confirms that we have national leaderships capable to overcome the latest changes and use innovative means to come up with suitable solutions based on best scientific methodologies and applied practices to handle any crisis.
His Excellency Dr. Waleed Al Manae, the Undersecretary for Ministry of Health pointed out that this forum is an opportunity to unify efforts and exchange intellectual and applied expertise for the progress of both the private and public sectors, adding that the Ministry of Health’s practices were based on the role of the Team Bahrain and the Kingdom of Bahrain’s strategy to deal with the Corona Virus pandemic (Covid-19), which today is summarized as joint team work and active national efforts to preserve the lives of citizens and residents through a health system, policies , actions and decision that were taken. He further added that today flexibility, responsiveness and speed of learning are the pivotal keys of success of government work in the face of crises in general and team Bahrain in particular.
His Excellency Dr. Manae said the current phase which today is classified as the phase of recovery from the pandemic is the focal point that requires serious action and full awareness of everybody, to the importance of using the lessons learnt from the crisis to overcome challenges and to achieve the desired national aspirations. He added this calls for unifying the institutional visions and strategies in various fields and dynamic sectors with the help of national cadres for the advancement of the Kingdom of Bahrain and to turn all the challenges into new opportunities for growth an national development.
