H.E. Dr. Raed Mohammed Bin Shams, Director General of the Institute of Public Administration (BIPA), confirmed that the accolade of the King Hamad Award for Youth Empowerment, to achieve sustainable development goals is based on the Institute’s endeavors to work in accordance with His Majesty’s comprehensive vision. The Institute gives importance to attaining the Sustainable Development Goals 2030, which were endorsed by the United Nations and included in all its programs, and have reflected positively in the strategic path of government projects and initiatives presented by program graduates. In Particular, this is reflected via one of the institute’s outstanding programs provided to government employees, the National Government Leadership Development Program, that directly links the achievement of overall sustainability with the projects presented by the graduates, which aim to achieve the Sustainable Development Goals approved in 2015 by 193 countries globally.
Dr. Bin Shams said, the King Hamad Award for the Empowerment of Youth to achieve the goals of the Sustainable Development has outlined the administrative and strategic path for the institute for Public Administration, to stimulate the role of the youth and to enhance their capabilities to create long-term government impact. He added, that the National youth leaders are required to strive to achieve the objectives of the Government’s agenda for the Kingdom of Bahrain as well as accomplish the requirements of the objectives of the Sustainable development 2030, towards attaining avant-garde government administration and to achieve such outcomes that can be shared at various levels locally, regionally and globally.
His Excellency, Dr. Raed stated that the Institute for Public Administration is considered one of the First Government establishments, internationally that has successfully incorporated the objectives of Sustainable Development objectives 2030 in its programs related to building management and administrative capacities.
He pointed out that this comes within the framework of the institute’s work to develop the government work program in the Kingdom of Bahrain in order to create a generation of government leaders able to continue in the march towards achieving sustainable development that will cater to the aspirations of the nation and its citizens.
Thus, the Sustainable Development Goals have been aligned with the National Program for the Development of Government Leaders by employing the most important scientific and professional methodologies and mechanisms related to sustainable development in guiding the trainees and developing their leadership skills and abilities. In addition to granting cadres in the national program, an opportunity to come up with government projects and initiatives aimed at achieving sustainable development goals, to benefit the Bahraini society the institute aims at enhancing the Kingdom’s position as a regional and international center for various cultural, intellectual and scientific productions.
Dr. Bin Shams, also commended the efforts of the National cadres at the Bahrain Institute for Public Administration(BIPA), who have consolidated its strategic and operational efforts to achieve the institute’s strategy, with the Objectives of Sustainable development in order to achieve the national vision of the Kingdom of Bahrain. Therefore, raising the efficiency of government work in order to achieve the aspirations of citizens and achieve comprehensive national sustainability at various levels and in all fields, by including the Sustainable Development Goals and the fundamentals of government action in all of the Institute’s government projects and initiatives.
