Her Excellency Dr. Shaikha Rana Bint Isa Bin Duaij Al Khalifa, Director General of the Institute of Public Administration, praised the initiative launched by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, to mark this year’s “Tree Week,” which aims to enhance environmental awareness and encourage the adoption of eco-friendly practices. She also highlighted His Royal Highness’s directive to launch an innovation competition focused on irrigation solutions, designed to stimulate creative ideas and innovative approaches in developing modern irrigation technologies and expanding their reach in public areas. This initiative supports the national afforestation plan, increases green spaces, and strengthens water-resource sustainability and innovation in green development.
This came as the Institute of Public Administration participated in “Tree Week” activities, during which Her Excellency, the Director General, together with Institute staff, planted several trees on the Institute’s premises, affirming the Institute’s commitment to contributing to national initiatives aimed at protecting the environment and improving quality of life. This participation reflects the Institute’s ongoing efforts to support national sustainability plans and encourage positive environmental practices within the workplace, reinforcing its role as a leading national institution in promoting environmental awareness and fostering a culture of sustainable development.
Her Excellency further explained that this initiative aligns with national efforts to increase green areas and support the afforestation plan, which aims to plant 3.6 million trees by 2035. She stressed that taking part in such national events enhances environmental responsibility among institutions and individuals and embeds sustainability values within the community.
