Director General of the Institute of Public Administration (BIPA) and Chairman of the Middle East and North Africa Public Administration Research Network (MENAPAR) Dr. Raed Mohammed bin Shams stressed that the initiatives undertaken by MENAPAR network are contributing in the increase of the sustainable development indicators adopted by the United Nations, on the basis of the institutional indicators aimed at spending on research and development, pointing out to the unremitting efforts carried out by MENAPAR in the field of scientific research which are in favor of the development and enrichment of the public administration sector, Dr. bin Shams added that MENAPAR network managed since it was founded officially in 2014, in making great strides in the field of supporting public administration research.
This came on the sidelines of the signing of the memorandum of understanding for the establishment of the first dialogue conference that MENAPAR network will hold in the field of public administration under the title (EUROMENA dialogue), which will include the three regions namely Europe, North Africa and the Middle East, and will be held next year 2016 in the Sultanate of Oman in partnership with the European Group of Public Administration (EGPA) represented by Mr. Robert Fuchsia, and in cooperation with the Omani Administration Institute, the local partner in Oman. The signing ceremony was held at BIPA’s premises in the Kingdom of Bahrain in the presence of Director General of the Omani Institute of Public Administration His Excellency Zaki bin Hilal Al-Busaidi along with the BIPA’s Director General in Kingdom of Bahrain and Chairman of MENAPAR network His Excellency Dr. Raed Mohammed bin Shams.
Dr. bin Shams said that such regional conferences aim at developing the culture of scientific research and reflect on the strategic issues in the public administration, which is in line with MENAPAR’s vision of building action networks and intensifying the collective efforts which aim to establish the need for public administration in the region, praising the efforts exerted by the strategic partner of MENAPAR network represented by the European Group of Public Administration (EGPA), which was founded in 1975, and affiliated with the International Institute of Administrative Sciences, which aims to develop the theoretical and cognitive side supportive to administration work in the European region and beyond.
It is noteworthy that this conference is considered the largest regional conference hosted by MENAPAR network, which is held once every two years in one of the Arab countries, and seeks to attract all practitioners, scientific and educational institutions, and companies and organizations specialized in scientific research in the public administration sector. It is planned that the conference duration is four days and 3 languages will be adopted within the deliberations of the conference namely Arabic, English and French, with the participation of 60 papers of research. The conference will include side dialogues, group discussions, sessions and workshops.
